Lisa Blayton, Porcelain Artist Carol Carstarphen, Watercolor Artist Ellen Williams, Oil/Pastel Artist | Join us Saturday, July 15th, as three of our artists will be in-house demonstrating and sharing their artistic process with us. *** Learn about Overglaze oils on Porcelain with Lisa Blayton. Porcelain painting was a popular art form in the South in the 1800's. Each porcelain piece requires numerous kiln firings to create permanent images. Join Lisa from 11 am-4 pm to see her contemporary interpretation using traditional tools and materials. *** Carol Carstarphen will join us from 1 pm - 3 pm and will be available to discuss and demonstrate her watercolor technique of using triads to plan and create her harmonious compositions. Carol has taught watercolor classes in her studio in Belmont NC for years and is praised by her students in her ability to share an understanding of her color process in such a fun way. ***Ellen Williams will be on site painting one of her beautiful paintings from 12 pm-4 pm. Ellen is a pastel/oil painter whose unique use of both mediums creates a style all her own. On Saturday she will be demonstrating her use of oils and will be here to answer any questions of onlookers. This is the first of a series of planned Artists in Action Demo days in which our artists will be sharing their artistic process. Also mark your calendars for August 26th with Terry Strawser, Dorothy Ellis, Cathy Turner and Jim Nelson and October 7th with Brenda Branson, Celia Wester and Barnie Slice. |
